Nowadays there is a burning question about becoming an interpreter. Some people strongly believe that you only need to speak a foreign language fluently, but others disagree.

On the one hand, if a person would like to become an interpreter, he should not only be fluent in a foreign language, but also know the grammar rules, pronunciation, idioms, different collocations and phrasal verbs. Besides, he must be an expert in his mother tongue. Furthermore, such person should be ready to work hard to achieve success and be very persistent and diligent. In addition to it, a professional interpreter should need a talent to grow in his job.

On the other hand, this work is complicated and demands to be physically fit, stable to stress and punctual. Apart from that, to be very polite and highly-professional is very important in this work. For instance, if you are not competent, you may influence diplomatic and international events, including military conflict.

Meanwhile, I personally think that this profession is very difficult and a person needs to put a lot of efforts to become a highly-qualified interpreter. More than that, he needs to prepare for this job from the early ages and to get a good education to succeed in his career.

To sum up, I would like to say that it is up to you whether to become an interpreter or not, but if you made up your mind about this profession, you should be ready for difficulties and trials.
